Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,

It’s a beautiful Friday morning and I’m excited for this weekend and the week ahead.  Our KiDSCOR team has been working hard all week preparing for the start of Vacation Bible Camp on Sunday. They’ve been creating props, planning menus, working on skits, lesson plans, games and crafts. Right now, we’ve got nearly 70 kids signed up. It’s going to be a great week, which we’ll kick off with an evening of fun for the whole congregation on Sunday night.

This month we’re engaging the whole family in the VBC experience. We’re using the popular children’s animated Toy Story features in VBC and our June sermon series to learn about the qualities of friendship and to explore some of our common fears and what scripture has to say about them. I have loved these movies since I first saw them with my kids because they capture so well, and with great humor, our less-than-perfect human tendencies. This Sunday we'll be turning our focus to Toy Story 2 and the importance of remembering who and whose we are.

You’re all invited back to watch the movie at 5 pm in the sanctuary and then, beginning at 6 pm, we’ll move to the backyard for hot dogs, snow cones, a bounce house, live music, games and more. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors to join in the fun.

Don't forget to reserve your spot at the Boulevard Drive Inn for the showing of Toy Story 4. Details about this and other great opportunities below.

I look forward to seeing you this week!

To infinity and beyond (that’s how great His love is for us),

Penny

Disaster Response

Resurrection's Disaster Response Team is working with local county emergency managers and the Methodist Conference Disaster Manager on how we can best support the people and communities recently affected by  tornadoes. Note that only trained first responders are needed at this point. We are coordinating Emergency Response Trained Teams to serve when the area is deemed safe. In the meantime, you can pray, donate and plan to become trained to respond in the future. Recovery will take a long time, and between recent floods and tornadoes, non-trained volunteers will be needed as well as trained teams. Find updates at cor.org/disasterresponse.

Serve for Summer in KiDSCOR

Have you ever wondered what we do in KIDSCOR? Maybe you have considered becoming a KiDSCOR volunteer, but cannot commit to 2 times per month- this is your chance to check it out! We need volunteers for our KiDSCOR Summer Crew! Anyone (parent, grandparent, teenager, etc) who serves at least 3 times over the summer will get a free KiDSCOR t-shirt too! I can promise, we have a lot of fun in KiDSCOR over the summer.  We try to get outside as often as we can, we get messy, we get loud and best of all - grow in our faith! Sign up now to serve in Early Childhood or Elementary. Contact Diane Enlow for more information.
