Greetings Resurrection Downtowners,

I hope you are doing well this Friday morning! It has been a great week here at the church.  On Monday night we had a great turnout for Be Still and Know, a class on reducing stress and anxiety led by Ginger Rothhaas, one of our Care Ministers and resident experts. Thank you for those of you who signed up and showed up for this class, as we are always looking for ways to foster continued growth and connection with our faith in our daily lives.

If you weren't able to make it, or if you are looking to get better connected, I invite you to join us for our next care class, Monday, May 13, 6:30–8 pm at 1601 Grand, to improve your mental, emotional and spiritual wellness. Learn more about the connection between thoughts, emotions and actions, led by seminary-trained Life Coach and podcaster Wendy Connelly.

Go to cor.org/getconnected to sign up for the class and reach out to Pastor Anne.Williams@cor.org with any questions!

This weekend in worship we'll continue our focus on the messiness of family life and relationships through our sermon series, This is Us. Given that it's Mother's Day Weekend, we'll shift focus to moms, the roles they play in our lives, and how God uses our moms to shape and form us in the image of God. Also, at the end of each service we will have a special gift for every woman in attendance. I hope you'll join us and invite all of the important influential women in your life to come with you.  It will be a great weekend!

On Thursday evening, May 16 from 5:30–7:30 pm, all Resurrection Downtowners, friends and family are welcome to join us for a Spring potluck. Bring your favorite side dish to share – we’ll provide pulled pork sandwiches for all, along with indoor and outdoor activities, including a giant "Rock, Paper, Scissors" contest. Register to let us know you’re coming HERE. And know that the whole family is invited!

Last week, we hosted a Coffee with the Pastors session, and had a great group choose to make Resurrection Downtown their church home!

Lastly as a quick reminder we are hosting Serve Saturday next weekend, May 18! Registration is not required, but if you sign up, it will help us ensure we have enough people assigned to each ministry partner location. Email Pastor Patrick.McLaughlin@cor.org with questions, or if you plan to bring a group.

It has been an awesome week, too many activities to mention, but I am excited about where God is leading us into the future. This weekend will be a great and celebratory weekend in worship and I look forward to seeing you there! Happy Mother's Day!

With Grace, Peace and God's Holy Adventure,

Scott
