Amid the decorations, gifts and parties, we celebrate one simple message: A child was born and the world was forever changed.
At the first Christmas, angels proclaimed good news of great joy for all people. Join us in worship this December as we retell the Christmas story and rediscover for ourselves the JOY that Christ's birth brings.
For our regular weekly service times, information about worship for children and students, and more check out our First Visit page.
The culmination of the Christmas season at Resurrection is our Candlelight Christmas Eve service. Plan to share in one of the most beautiful and meaningful worship services of the year. Each service has beautiful music, a message of hope and the cherished tradition of passing the candlelight - the light of Christ - as we sing Silent Night together.
Childcare is available for children 4 years old and younger at every service except Sunday, Dec. 24, at 9 and 11 pm.
Don't mis Resurrection's signature celebration of Christmas! More than 300 actors, singers, dancers and instrumentalists take the stage and present the traditional Christmas story.
Our entire Christmas Eve offering each year goes directly to serve those in need. By giving an offering equal to the amount you typically spend on Christmas gifts, you will provide hope and opportunity for neighbors living in poverty in Kansas City and around the world.
Please join Chris Folmsbee Director of Adult Discipleship, Rev. Jeff Kirby Minister of Alpha and Men’s Ministry, Michelle Kirby Associate Director of Discipleship, Rev. Chris Abel Pastor of Young Adults and Darrell Holtz Adult Discipleship Program Director of Curriculum for this year’s Advent study. Each week they will take us through the Gospel of Matthew, exploring the key themes of watching, repenting, healing and loving through a portrait of Jesus. These four themes will be explored each week, beginning Tuesday evenings, November 28 through December 19, 7:00-8:30 pm in the Student Center located in Building C at the Leawood campus.

Join us this Advent season as we read the story of Jesus’ birth guided by Joy to the World by Raechel Myers and Amanda Bible Williams of She Reads Truth (Inspired for Life Women’s Conference speakers!). From the earliest promises of His coming in the Old Testament, to the angelic messengers announcing His birth to the shepherds, this 4-week Scripture reading plan presents the biblical story of our need for Christ and the glory of His arrival.
The Joy to the World Advent study book is loaded with all kinds of Christmas goodness. You’ll find maps and charts to help you understand the daily Scripture readings, fun facts and stories about holiday traditions, as well as recipes, prayers, and songs to help you form new ones. Read with us this Advent season as we anticipate and celebrate the coming of Christ, discovering anew “the glories of His righteousness and wonders of His love.”
