Give at Resurrection

Your donation is an investment in changing lives.

Give Now

Each fall we ask our members to make their pledges to God and to the ministry of the church for the coming year. Filling out your card is an act of Christian discipleship and an expression of your faith. It is also an investment in the lives of every person who will be affected by our church in the coming year.

Commitment Weekend is November 18/19

  1. Review the 2018 Guide to Giving.
  2. Prayerfully determine your 2018 giving commitment.
  3. Present your commitment in worship or complete it online.

Electronic giving is secure, quick and easy.

One-time gifts are simple to set up using a debit or credit card, or from a bank account.

Recurring gifts can be set up on a schedule that works for you, and provide flexibility to track and manage your giving. By setting up a bank transfer, you will save the church approximately 3% compared to credit card fees. We discourage the use of credit cards if you will incur debt in the process.

Appreciated stock or qualified charitable distributions are also giving options. Contact the Finance Department for more information.

For assistance about any of these giving options, please email the Finance Department or call them at (913) 232-4171.

Why We Give

Everything we have belongs to God, and we are simply managing those resources while here on earth. Through our tithes and offerings, we demonstrate in a tangible way our love for God and our neighbors. Each year, we ask our members to commit to their tithes and offerings for the coming year in support of our church's ministry and mission. We do this for three reasons:

  • All we have is a gift from God, so we believe that giving to God's work is an act of worship.
  • At Resurrection, giving is an expectation of membership. The church does not specify how much an individual should give, but we hope each person will commit a percentage of their income and increase that amount as they are able.
  • Annual giving makes possible: worship, programs for children and students, Bible studies, small groups, pastoral care and support, mission trips and community projects.

An Approach to Giving

  • Begin with prayer. Thank God for your blessings and ask for guidance and discernment.
  • Assess your income and giving. Determine your current giving as a percentage of your income.
  • Set your giving goal. If you are not currently tithing (giving 10 percent of your income), start with a lower percentage and then plan to increase the percentage each year, growing toward the tithe. The important thing is to begin the spiritual discipline of regular, consistent giving.
  • Determine your giving method. Take a look at the ways you can give and select the option that is best for both you and the church.
  • Worship with gratitude. Fill out your 2018 annual commitment card and worship on November 18/19. As a congregation, we will express our gratitude to God and present our cards, representing our commitment to God’s ministry through our church.

Stewardship & Generosity

At the heart of our philosophy of giving is a commitment to the good stewardship of our God-given resources. For us, stewardship is a way of life that recognizes that everything we have is God’s and we are simply managing those resources here on earth.

Capital Campaigns

For the past few years, The Church of the Resurrection has been dreaming and planning to build new spaces that would reach future generations and provide tools for ministry for the next 100 years. These campaigns have made it possible for us to build sacred spaces for our community to encounter God through prayer walks, stained glass windows, and other beautiful artistic elements (more information about our sacred spaces available here).

Memorial & Legacy Giving

Memorial giving is a meaningful way to remember loved ones. Memorial gifts can make a difference now and legacy gifts through the Resurrection Foundation are a purposeful way to support the future mission of our church.
