Leawood: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (25 Hours, Nonexmpt)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on care and support for adult participants with special needs.
  • Partner with SALP Coordinator, and Team Leads to encourage each learner’s engagement in program activities to their full potential.
  • Assists in a variety of SALP programs including devotion, bakery, art, music, community service, and enrichment activities.
  • Fosters good communication with adult learners with special needs, caregivers, volunteers and staff team.
  • Available to work 10am-3pm, M-F.

Main qualifications:

  • Proven ability and prior experience working with adults with special needs including autism, down syndrome, learning disabilities and other cognitive and/or physical disabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to model for and assign tasks to volunteers.

Leawood: Assistant Modern Worship Leader (20-25 Hours, Exempt)

Primary Responsibilities:

In coordination with the Director of Youth and Vibe Worship, responsible for recruiting, developing, maintaining, rehearsing, designing set lists for musical worship and mentoring students in high energy, contemporary settings.

Availability for the following schedule:

Wednesday 4pm-9pm

Tuesday 10am-6pm

Sunday 7:30am-2pm

Main qualifications:

  • Understand basic musical concepts and ability to communicate them.
  • Proficiency on an instrument.
  • Ability to lead and develop and mentor bands and their members.
  • Ability to spiritually minister to and disciple musicians, including conducting Bible study and prayer.

West: Student Ministries Worship Leader (20-25 Hours, Exempt)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead worship with the student ministry band on Wednesday nights and assist the Director of Student Ministries with programming. This can include youth group, Sunday School, student ministry events and trips, summer camp, and occasional weekend activities.
  • Assist the Director of Worship Arts in preparing, rehearsing, and leading worship each Sunday as well as for special events and programming.
  • Build healthy one-on-one relationships with students, providing care and living as a Christ-like role model.

Main qualifications:

  • Mastery of at least one instrument with the ability to lead worship.
  • Ability to communicate/relate to students and their families.
  • Musical aptitude to lead others in worship through song and praise. Able to design music ministries particularly for students and adults.

Blue Springs: Student Ministry Program Director (15 Hours, Non-Exempt)

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Provide coordination and implementation for student ministry programming. This includes setting goals and direction, establishing new ministry opportunities, and evaluating existing programs.
  • Recruit, manage, motivate, and equip staff, volunteers, and student leaders.
  • Regularly connect and converse with teenagers in the program setting.

Main qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with ages 6th through 12th grade.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of developing quality relationships.
  • Ability to create and/or modify curriculum to be developmentally and theologically appropriate.
